The Shorts SD-360 was an integral part of the Manx Airlines fleet from 1983 through until the year 2000. By 1984 there were four SD-360s operating for Manx Airlines on a variety of routes including Belfast, Dublin, Glasgow, Liverpool and Manchester and from 1985 they proved how versatile they were when one of the aircraft were stripped of its seats each night to fly a newspaper and postal service from the Island.
