Trevor Clegg is on a day trip to Blackpool, taking a welcome break from his boring office job. Childhood memories come flooding back when he sees Blackpool Tower: building sandcastles, the donkey rides and, most of all, the trip to the top of Blackpool Tower.

Admiring the wonderful views from the observation deck of the Tower, he hears a flapping noise high above him and trains his binoculars to the spot. He sees a young seagull trapped by its neck in the tower's cables. As an animal lover he feels he has to try to free it. He finds a spiral staircase and climbs the stairs to a higher level, not realising that his life is about to change....and an exciting adventure is about to begin.
